The Surgical Simulation Laboratory uses leading edge computer technology for surgical training through simulation. The (SSL) has one of the largest collections of surgical simulators in active use. They include both computer-controlled mannequins and virtual-reality based trainers in a simulated operating room.
The Virtual Medical Environments Laboratory is now a separate functional area within the SimCen.
